"Flies Are for the Birds!"
One Gemini's Fire is the first foal by Karino's Fire, and she has a very special place in the hearts of all who know her. She is the result of a twin pregnancy, which presented the family with a difficult choice, to insure that one foal would make it to term, the advice of the vet was taken into consideration, and the smaller embryo was eliminated. Everyone was much relieved to see One Gemini's Fire emerge healthy and happy. I believe that her young owner did a fine job of naming her. Around the farm, she is simply "Sophie", which is also a fitting name, as she thinks she is a movie star....
In September 2005 at the Regional Trakehner inspection, the press was on hand and One Geminis Fire graced the pages of a local paper & her mother graced the front page. Sophie was the object of glowing comments from the Trakehner Inspector, stating that she was the best foal he had seen all season.
He was especially impressed with her type, head and neck. Sophie suffered some injuries as a result of her being turned lose on accident outside of an enclosure, and this has affected her scores somewhat, though she still has placed well and earned respectable scores, and comments from judges on what a nice horse she is.
